Nanotechnology is so revolutionary and interesting because it affects almost every aspect of science. Nanotechnology refers to a billionth of a meter. This form of technology has the ability to create incredible medicinal and manufacturing advancements. Nanotechnology is of great importance to our society because of the frequency and necessity of it. Without this revolutionary nanotechnology, our society would not have the advancements in science that we have today.

Something that stood out to me was the scanning tunneling microscope invented by Gerd Binnig and Heinrich Rohrer. Because of this invention, they received the Nobel Piece for physics. This showed the true importance of this invention. This microscope always you to "feel the invisible". This advanced technology allows you to map out the position of atoms and get a better idea of how they are placed by learning physically and visually.

Another thing that stood out to me was the versatility of this microscope. This microscope is able to resolve in air, low temperatures, high temperatures, liquids. This versatility really shows the way our technology is developing. Because of this, scientists are able to do so much more research and conduct many more experiments on all kinds of different things.
