Astronomy and space is still mostly undiscovered, but this does not prevent us from learning or wanting to learn more about it. Planets and stars have been study since the ancient astronomers. These points in the sky (planets) have been given roman names. All the roman names pertain to gods and goddesses. Even comets and asteroids have been studied since ancient times. This demonstrates the amount of interest we have about learning more about space.

The first thing that stood out to me and deepened my understanding of space and the technology that goes along with it is the invention of the telescope and where the word is derived from. Telescope is a Greek word and it means "to look or see". The telescope was the catalyst for new discoveries at this time. It really began the exploration beyond just our world.

The next thing that helped me understand the topic this week was how it connected to last weeks topic of nanotechnology. Macro and micro is found all throughout space. This technology helps the exploration all throughout space which helps us get a much deeper understanding of the things found in space. The connection of these two topics shows how technology can be related in many ways.

Hi James! I really enjoyed reading your blog. I agree that the invention of the telescope and the development of its uses is has been really interesting to learn. I like that you were able to draw a connection between this week and last weeks material. It is so true that so many aspects of science and technology are related.
